The MRT Putrajaya Line further expands Kuala Lumpur’s rail network, improves connectivity between existing rail services, and helps reduce traffic congestion in the Greater KL metropolitan area. Phase I, from Damansara Damai to Kampung Batu, began operations on 16 June 2022, while Phase II, from Kentonmen to Putrajaya Sentral, opened on 16 March 2023.

The MRT Kajang Line has seven interchange stations connecting with other rail services, including KTM Komuter, RapidKL LRT, KL Monorail, KLIA Ekspres, KLIA Transit and KTM Intercity. The MRT Putrajaya Line was planned with 10 interchange and connecting stations, further strengthening integration across Kuala Lumpur’s public transport network.

The LRT Shah Alam Line further enhances connectivity with the existing rail network through interchange and connecting stations. Glenmarie LRT Station connects with Glenmarie 2 LRT Station, while Bandar Utama LRT Station provides a connection to Bandar Utama MRT Station on the MRT Kajang Line..
