About the Station

Ampang Park LRT Station is an LRT station in Kuala Lumpur that served by RapidKL's Kelana Jaya Line. Ampang Park Station is the last underground station on the Kelana Jaya Line before the line heads above ground again at Damai LRT Station.

The Station was opened on 1 June 1999, as part of the line's second segment encompassing 13 stations between Masjid Jamek Station and Gombak Station and an underground line.

Ampang Park LRT station is located in the city commercial center toward eastern Kuala Lumpur, along Jalan Ampang, one of most busiest main roads in Kuala Lumpur. The station is located opposite of Ampang Park Shopping Centre (demolished in 2018 to make way for the construction of Ampang Park MRT Station) along Jalan Ampang, near the Jalan Tun Razak intersection.

This station is close to the US Embassy, the Singapore High Commission, the Canadian High Commission, and the British High Commission which are all located in the area of Jalan Tun Razak called "Embassy Row".

InterContinental Hotel KL (formerly Hotel Nikko KL) is a superb five star business hotel conveniently located 200 metres away from Ampang Park LRT station. Citibank Kuala Lumpur Head Office and UOB Bank also located next to the Station.

It is an out-of-station interchange station with the MRT Putrajaya Line at Ampang Park MRT Station. Passengers need to tap out from one line and resurface to ground level when changing between the two lines. They should then enter the other underground station to continue their journey.

The Ampang Park MRT Station started operation on 16 March 2023 under phase two operations of the MRT Putrajaya Line.

Platform Architecture

Ampang Park LRT Station consists of three levels, with the entrance on ground level while the ticketing area, concourse and platforms are underground. Similar to all Kelana Jaya Line underground stations, the Ampang Park Station features an island platform sandwiched between two railway tracks for each direction.
