About the Station
The Bukit Chagar Station is an international rapid transit station
serving as the Malaysian terminus for the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid
Transit System (RTS) Link. It is a high-capacity elevated station located in
the heart of Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia.
The Bukit Chagar Station is located within walking distance to the JB
Sentral transportation hub, CIQ Complex (Bangunan Sultan Iskandar), and
major retail centers including City Square and KOMTAR JBCC.
As reported in mid-2024 and confirmed by progress updates in 2026, the
station's infrastructure is nearing completion with a target for full
operational readiness by January 2027. The station is designed to handle up
to 10,000 passengers per hour, significantly easing congestion on the Johor
Causeway.
As based on the official project alignment, this station serves as the
primary Southern Integrated Gateway, featuring a co-located Customs,
Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) facility for seamless cross-border travel.

RTS Feeder Bus Services
The station will be integrated with the Iskandar Malaysia Bus Rapid Transit
(IMBRT) system, specifically the Tebrau and Skudai lines. Furthermore, over
250 additional buses are being deployed under the Stage Bus Service
Transformation (SBST) programme to enhance first-and-last-mile connectivity
across Johor Bahru.
