About The Station
The Bukit Mertajam KTM Railway Station is a KTM train station located at and
named after the town of Bukit Mertajam, Penang. It is electrified on 2015.
Bukit Mertajam is the capital of Central Seberang Perai, Penang. It is
commonly known as BM among its locals. Bukit Mertajam is located 29 km away
from George Town, the capital city of Penang. Bukit Mertajam has the highest
population and one of the most developed area in Seberang Perai.
Bukit Mertajam is farmous with its historical St. Anne's Church. The
original chapel was built in 1846 by the French priest, Father Adolphe
Couellan. The chapel was dedicated to Saint Anne, who is a very popular
patron saint amongst the French.
