PETALING JAYA March 3: The
response to Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd's contractors' briefing scheduled
to be held today is overwhelming as more than 100 queries have been received
so far, says a coordinator for the event.
“The figure may be higher as it excludes “walk-in” participants that are
expected to attend the briefing as the event is an open invitation,” he told
MRT News Team yesterday.
Prasarana will today hold the contractor's briefing for all contractors with
interest in the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT)
Sungai Buloh-Kajang
line.
A spokesperson for Prasarana
said the briefing would be conducted by one of the group's directors who
would talk about the MRT project and the job opportunities available. |

“It is going to be a normal briefing where issues related to the MRT project
will be discussed,” she said yesterday. Prasarana is a wholly-owned unit of
the Minister of Finance Inc and the owner of the MRT project, estimated to
cost RM36bil while
MMC-Gamuda JV Sdn Bhd manages the project as the Project
Delivery Partner.
The project covers 60km with 35 stations and will start in July while work
is expected to be completed within five or six years. Apart from the MRT
project, Prasarana is also the asset owner and operator of several public
transport providers operating the Ampang and Kelana Jaya lines, KL Monorail
system, bus operations in the Klang Valley and
Penang, as well as
cable car
services in Langkawi.
