Station Security

In response to the increasing crime rate in LRT stations and nearby areas, security has been stepped up onboard the MRT. Based on proposal, the KL MRT system will deploy a special MRT police team and security officer trained by Malaysia Royal Police force. All MRT stations have a head guard.

The MRT also employs the use of closed-circuit television inside all stations to monitor suspicious activities and to assure safety and security aboard the line.

Passengers are also advised to look out for pick pocket, who can take advantage of the crowding aboard MRT trains. Wanted posters are posted at all MRT stations to help commuters identify known thieves.

All the security personals are fluent in both English and Bahasa Malaysia are also a common sight at MRT stations and inside MRT trains.

During the constructions phase of KL MRT, if you need to enquired about security of the MRT construction site, kindly refer to the project owner as stated below.
