Klang Valley MRT Rolling Stock
Rolling stock comprises all the vehicles that move on a railway. It usually
includes both powered and un-powered vehicles, for example locomotives,
railroad cars, coaches and wagons.
However, in some countries (including Malaysia), the term is usually used to
refer only to non-powered vehicles; specifically excluding locomotives which
may be referred to as running stock, traction or motive power. Rolling stock
is considered to be a liquid asset or close to it, since the value of the
vehicle can be readily estimated and then shipped to the buyer without much
cost or delay.
The term contrasts with fixed stock (infrastructure), which is a collective
term for the track, signals, stations, other buildings, electric wires, etc,
necessary to operate a railway.
MRT trains are particularly known for their use of wrap advertising. A wide
variety of advertisements can be seen on MRT trains, of which some include
Samsung Electronics, Panasonic and Epson products. Trains bearing wrap
advertising are now very common aboard the MRT, although trains that use
MRT's house colours are also in service in the network. The revenues
generated from the advertising on MRT trains are used to pay off debts
incurred by the project owner during the system's construction.
During the constructions phase of Klang Valley MRT, if you need to proposed
or suggest any related stocks and products, kindly refer to the project
owner as stated below.
