Depot

Based on proposed plan, the KL MRT will maintains 2 depots, one in Kajang near to Taman Selamat before Kajang Station and another one near Sungai Buloh Station. The Depot  in Sungai Buloh Station occupies an amount of space and serves as the headquarters for light and heavy maintenance of the KL MRT, as well as the operations of the system in general. It is connected to the main MRT network by a spur line.

The depot is capable of storing a big number of rail vehicles, with the option to expand to include more vehicles as demand arises. They are parked on nine sets of tracks, which converge onto the spur route and later on to the main network.

These rail cars and other maintenance equipment will be stored and maintained at spur line. It is important that the storage and maintenance facility be located close to the main network to minimize costs and for the safety of the alignments.

The facility needs to accommodate administrative and MRT operations functions.
